Life Choice Hospice volunteers are an integral part of our hospice team and play a crucial role in the way we deliver care. Our volunteers are loyal, sensitive and dedicated individuals who selflessly give of themselves to ensure hospice care is provided with thoughtfulness and compassion. Each and every hospice volunteer has truly made a difference in the lives of our patients and their families.
All hospice volunteers at Life Choice receive extensive training that promotes the understanding of death as a person’s life journey coming to a close. In addition to being oriented to our philosophy and approach to care, our volunteers are trained to meet the complex challenges that patients and their families face when coping with a life-limiting illness.
At Life Choice Hospice, we have three distinct types of volunteers: Bedside Volunteers, Bereavement Volunteers and Administrative Volunteers. Bedside Volunteers visit with the patients and provide support through activities such as listening, holding their hands, playing music or watching television together. Bereavement Volunteers, many of whom have experienced their own loss, are an invaluable source of support to both the patients and their families. Administrative Volunteers support the Life Choice staff with duties such as assembling informational packets, filing, data entry and telephone assistance.
Life Choice is always looking for committed volunteers to become part of our hospice team. If you are interested, please call (800) 557-7570 or apply online.
